An online course for those who want to learn DJing from scratch – from any city. Over 10 group sessions with the founder of Kultura Zvuku, you'll go from finding your first track to recording your own mix. You'll understand music structure, master RecordBox, and learn how to build a set.
The finale – a recorded mix, your own pages on SoundCloud and Resident Advisor, and a clear plan for your next steps in the scene.

During the course, you'll also explore electronic music genres, learn how to find and organise music, and work with EQ, filters, and effects.
Sessions take place online on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the evening, in a group of up to 20 people. Your prior experience doesn't matter – we start from the basics and build up step by step.
All you need is motivation, a laptop, and RecordBox (free software).
BUILDING YOUR MUSIC LIBRARY
What it means to be a DJ and where the journey starts. Values and lifestyle. Where and how to find music, buying and downloading tracks. Audio formats and quality. Organising your library and exploring classic genres.
WORKING WITH RECORDBOX
Getting to know the software and its purpose. Creating playlists, beatgridding, setting cue points and loops. BPM, the specifics of straight and broken beats. Structure of a listening track vs a dancefloor track.
MIXING TRACKS
Key terminology and parameters: deck, EQ, filter, fader, gain, master. Classic two-track blending – working with Cue, headphones, beatmatching. Genre-specific mixing, working with loops and effects, mixing on three decks.
GETTING TO KNOW CONTROLLERS & CLUB GEAR
Overview of controllers and rider equipment. Exploring the XDJ-1000Mk2 and budget controllers. Getting familiar with different mixer models. Practising mixing by ear.
ET BUILDING & PARTY TIMING
What party timing is and how a set is structured. The difference between a DJ set and a podcast. Playlist tips – mood, Camelot wheel, track ratings. Recording your own mix with practical advice.

No, a controller is not required. We will demonstrate on a controller, but a laptop with RecordBox installed is enough to complete the course.
